O meu trabalho é uma grande luta entre claro e escuro e entre as gradações e os efeitos que conseguimos extrair dos materiais, mas também é um grande prazer sentir a discreta untuosidade da grafite, tão diferente da aspereza do carvão; é uma luta permanente que nos traz muitas compensações. …»
"...Being more of an observer than a creator, more of a contemplative than an experimentalist, I am moved by the beauty of my surroundings and how light, or the lack of it, reveals it. My work is an attempt at graphic abstraction from things seen and a need to share with others the beauty I find and the work that saves me(?) and gives meaning to my life. Louise Bourgeois said that "art is a guaranty of sanity", and I couldn't agree more. My work is a great struggle between light and dark and between the gradations and effects we can extract from the materials, but it's also a great pleasure to feel the discreet unctuousness of graphite, so different from the roughness of charcoal; it's a permanent struggle that brings us many rewards. ..."
