Artist Statement
Faço minhas as palavras de Gertrude Bell quando emitiu opinião sobre a visão contida no Balfour Agreement em 1921, que postulava a futura inserção do Estado de Israel na Palestina:-"It's like a nightmare in which you foresee all the horrible things which are going to happen and can`t stretch out your hand to prevent them”
Este será o meu pensamento sobre o projecto da cidade futurista chamada “the line” que esta a ser construída junto ao Mar Vermelho, numa linha de mais de 270 quilómetros sobre o deserto. Apenas visualizo uma prisão a céu aberto, preparada para acolher uma população multicultural cuidadosamente seleccionada, condicionada socialmente e sob constante vigilância.

I also predict that The Line, self defined as revolution in urban living or accelerator of human progress, with 500 billion dollars cost, a futuristic city, sky resort and industrial hub, located in Saudi Arabia, that will be erected and constructed from the Red Sea into the desert on a 170 miles stretch will function as a dystopian nightmare and an open multicultural prison in the near future.
